This year's Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk is set for October 3rd, 2026.

Registration to walk opens on Wednesday, 9/2/26.

See more at https://worldwidephotowalk.com. I've done 3 of these since they began in 2008, and they're pretty fun.

I'm thinking that our area doesn't have a leader yet this year. I did it last year, and in my newness to the area, I did a somewhat poor job of selecting the walk route and time of day. Somebody else's turn this year.

That said, leading merely consists of:

1-sign up to lead

2-select a route for the walk as soon as you can

3-have a list of places to eat along the way or afterwards (optional)

4-clear the intended walk route with any facilities if you want to leave public areas

5-choose the time for walkers to show up and finish

6-enter the information for 2, 3, and 5 above on the website

7-publicize in social media and/or by contacting clubs (Kelby will take all the sign-ups online)

8-greet folks the day of the walk, orient them

9-enjoy the walk (you don't have to control the group)

10-afterwards have a group sit-down at a nearby restaurant (optional)

11-the worldwide organizer will ask each participant to submit a photo for the competition portion

12-the organizer will then ask the leader to evaluate the submissions and select a local winner

I hope that list doesn't appear too difficult, because it wasn't hard to do. If you're inclined, go right on the website and hit the big button in the upper right corner to lead. If somebody has already volunteered, the website will give you that feedback, and you're off the hook for this year.
