The Piedmont Photography Club is an active, welcoming organization. We invite you to explore our website and, even better, visit one of our meetings to see what we’re all about.

We meet once a month to learn more about photography, enjoy presentations, share and critique each other’s images, and discover new ways to create photographs. We usually meet on the second Tuesday of the month at New Philadelphia Moravian Church on Country Club Road in Winston-Salem.

Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m., but many members arrive early to chat, catch up, and enter images for contests.

The Piedmont Photography Club offers a wide range of activities throughout the year.

Every other month is typically a contest meeting. Members may enter digital images, prints, or a combination of both. Sometimes the club invites an outside judge to provide critiques and select award-winning images. At other times, honorable mentions are chosen by club members.

At non-contest meetings, guest speakers often share hands-on demonstrations, practical tips, and educational presentations. Over the years, we’ve welcomed published professionals who have presented programs on action, landscape, and nature photography. Many of our own talented members have also led workshops on macro photography, digital photography, studio lighting, Photoshop techniques, and the business side of photography.

PPC also organizes regular day trips and weekend getaways. Members have enjoyed outings to Brevard, Cades Cove, Doughton State Park, Hanging Rock State Park, Reynolda Gardens, Bethabara Park, the Asheboro Zoo, the Butterfly House, and the Emily H. Allen Wildflower Preserve, among many others.

Members regularly display and sell their work through club-sponsored exhibits. They may also showcase photographs on this website in the member galleries. Some members maintain personal photography websites, and links to those can be found on our Links page.

Other club activities include picnics, a holiday dinner, and our annual banquet and awards presentation.

Annual dues are $40 for an individual or $55 for a family membership.

Membership gives you the opportunity to fully participate in all of the activities listed above and more. Members also stay informed about photography-related events such as seminars, workshops, exhibits, and contests.
